Anchor of the ABC’s 7.30, Leigh Sales is one of Australia’s most respected journalists. In 2014 whilst eight months pregnant, Leigh faced a life-threatening event which she barely survived. In its wake she found herself struggling to cope. How, when the worst thing we can imagine happens to us, do we cope and importantly, can you ever get back to a life of normality?

Leigh painstakingly researched the questions we’re often too scared to pose. In Any Ordinary Day she meets people who have been in the eye of the storm: Walter Mikac, Stuart Diver and others to find out how they survived the unthinkable. Along the way, she discovers what it takes to get through the worst days of your life.

Armando Lucas Correa is returning to Australia after his highly successful 2016 tour when his passion and charm mesmerized crowds.

Armando is a Cuban American journalist and head of People en Español, one of the largest Spanish language magazines in the world. He grew up in Havana listening to his grandmother mourning for the Jews who sailed to Cuba in 1939 on St. Louis. (The ill-fated ship was turned away by Cuba, USA and Canada and returned to Europe where most of its passengers perished in concentration camps.) These childhood stories obsessed Armando for years and eventually became a basis of his international bestseller The German Girl. This year Armando returns once more to St. Louis with The Daughter’s Tale, an unforgettable family saga of love, redemption and hope against all odds.

Pescan is more than a cookbook. It’s a celebration of food and life by Australian actress Abbie Cornish and Jacqueline King Schiller. At thirty Abbie went through a really big shift in her life, mentally and physically. She sought advice from different doctors and practitioners and concluded it was her diet that needed to change. The changes weren’t easy but she continued to educate herself and eat with awareness. She began to feel stronger, healthier and more energetic. Abbie will be in Australia in June for filming commitments and will share with us her journey. Pescan not only has delicious seafood, dairy-free and plant based recipes but shows us how you can create beautiful desserts that are nutritious and delectable.

In The Land Before Avocado, Richard Glover takes a journey to an almost unrecognisable Australia. It's a vivid portrait of a quite peculiar land: a place that is scary and weird, dangerous and incomprehensible, and, now and then, surprisingly appealing.

It's the Australia of his childhood. The Australia of the late 60's and early '70s.

It's a place of funny clothing and food that was appalling, but amusingly so. It also the land of staggeringly awful attitudes towards anybody who didn't fit in.

The Land Before Avocado will make you laugh and cry and leave you wondering how bizarre things were, not so long ago.

Most of all it will make you realise how far we've come - and how much further we can go.
