Here's how to solve kakuro:
- Place a number from 1 - 9 in each white square in the grid such that the sum of the white squares in each run of cells matches the total in the light grey square at the start of that sum.
- Sums run either horizontally or vertically. A number cannot repeat within each sum. Thus if there is a sum total of 4 from two squares, it must be 1 and 3 in some order, not 2 and 2.
That's it! Each puzzle in this collection has a single solution that can be reached through considering the number options for each square: you'll never need to guess to solve these puzzles.

Welcome to our large print edition of Skeleton Crosswords, featuring all new puzzles for volume 2!The rules of the puzzle are simple: solve the crossword. But there is a slight catch - the grid is not all there to start with as with a standard crossword. Instead you have to work out the grid pattern at the same time as solving the puzzle. This is why it is called a skeleton crossword, as you have to put the flesh on the bones of the grid in addition to solving the puzzle.
Puzzles are printed with an easy-to-read font size on a large 8.5 x 11 inch page size.
Instructions and solutions are included inside so if at any point you need a helping hand, take a peek towards the back!
Welcome to this brand new book, featuring 100 themed word search puzzles for adults.
The puzzles in this book cover a range of 100 different themes, so as well as providing all the enjoyment and challenge of finding the words in the grid, topics covered by the puzzles include languages, ancient Egypt, athletics, stars, jazz, artists, cocktails and many, many more.
Each word search has the classic rules: find each of the words in the grid, with words appearing in the grid of letters either horizontally, vertically or diagonally in either a forward or backward direction. Can you find all 1,800 words in this book?
All answers are included at the back of the book so you can check your answers, or if you get stuck, see where that final word is hiding!
The book is printed on quality white paper, so you can use a pencil, highlighter or pen as you prefer whilst solving the puzzles in this word search book for adults.
Welcome to this brand-new book, containing another set of 101 giant 3D sudoku puzzles.
To solve these puzzles, you will need to place each number from 1-9 exactly once into every region in the grid. There are 27 faces of a cube in the grid, represented as 3x3 boxes with bold-lines. Each of these regions must contain 1-9 once.
In addition, there are 54 rows/columns that must also contain 1-9 once. These begin at each of the squares around the edge of the grid, and run for nine squares in a straight line that may travel over multiple faces of the giant sudoku cube. Thick lines show you where these regions end in the grid, in instances where they do not simply end at the edge of the grid.
To help you visualise the 3D nature of the grid, we have coloured each of the three types of cube face in a different shade of grey. All puzzles in the book can be solved through the use of logical rules alone, you'll never need to guess.

Welcome to this fantastic new book, featuring 100 wiggle wordsearch and other wordsearch variants. If you are one of the many fans of standard wordsearch puzzles and would like to try something a little different, then this could be the book for you!
Unlike a standard wordsearch, the words in these puzzles wiggle all over the grid. This makes the puzzles a novel and refreshing change to standard wordsearch puzzles where all words appear in straight lines going horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
This book contains 50 wiggle wordsearch, with some additional shaped grids and wiggle numbersearch, too. The book also contains several other wordsearch variations: these include circle search, where the words appear in a circle shape, and squares, in which the words appear in the grid in a square shape.
Other variations include bendy wordsearch: these puzzles have a single bend in them, so are somewhere between standard wordsearches and wiggle wordsearches. Another puzzle type is the 'V' wordsearch, where all words are placed in the shape of the letter 'V', which may be rotated.
The book also contains a small number of ordinary wordsearch puzzles, although the rules are twisted slightly with these, too. In one type of standard wordsearch, a word is hidden just a single time in a grid containing letters only from that word: can you find it? With a multi-times wordsearch, a single word is hidden multiple times, and the solver must find every instance in the grid.
All solutions are included at the back of the book, so if you ever get stuck or want to check your answers, then it is easy to do so. We hope you enjoy this fun collection of wiggle wordsearch, and other variations.
Featuring the full times tables for the 2 through to the 12-times table, this book contains 50 puzzles that will put your times tables skills to the test. They are a great way for children to learn to recognise the numbers in each times table, familiarise themselves with the numbers, and therefore learn each of the times tables in an accessible and engaging manner.
Each puzzle contains a large grid of numbers from a particular times table. For instance, in a four-times table puzzle, every number will be between 1 and 48 (which is 4x12). You must find and colour in all the squares that contain a number in the four-times table, also known as a multiple of four. Once complete, you will create a picture!
Full answers are included at the back of the book so if you get stuck or want to check your solutions, it is easy to do so.
These times tables picture number puzzles make the perfect way to practice your times tables skills in a fun, enjoyable manner. It really is true that practice makes perfect, and by tackling all the puzzles in this book you'll get lots and lots of practice at recognising which numbers are in each times tables, and will be tackling your times tables like a pro by the time you finish the book!
Welcome to this fantastic Kakuro book, featuring 100 brand-new jumbo kakuro. Each kakuro puzzle is played on a giant 20x20 grid, and will require a mixture of maths and logic to solve. If you are new to kakuro solving, here are the rules: place numbers into each run of white squares so that the numbers contained in the squares sum to the value given at the start or end of that run of squares. In this way, the puzzles are a little like number crosswords. You must use numbers from 1-9 only, and are not allowed to repeat a number within a run of squares. Thus, if required to make 4 from two squares, the squares must contain 3 and 1 in some order, as 2 and 2 would not be allowed as that repeats a number.
If you are a fan of sudoku or other Japanese logic puzzles, and now looking for a similarly absorbing challenge, then why not try these jumbo kakuro puzzles? Whilst you will need to use your logical thinking skills, as with sudoku, you will additionally need to use your mathematical prowess to tackle kakuro puzzles. At the start of the book we list all the possible ways of reaching each of the totals in the 100 puzzles throughout the book to give you a helping hand. It is worth familiarising yourself with these as you work through the puzzles. Learning to spot which sums have relatively few options is a great way to get a foothold into many of the puzzles.
Kakuro puzzles can be tricky to solve, particularly these jumbo puzzles. However, all puzzles have a single solution that can be reached through the use of logic, maths and cross-referencing alone, you will never need to take a guess to solve these puzzles. You will often require patience, however, and to carefully think through the options for a run of squares and then cross-reference these against crossing runs in order to make progress.
All solutions are included at the back of the book so if you get stuck, or just want to check your answer is correct, please do look there. We hope you enjoy this fantastic collection of jumbo kakuro puzzles.
Each puzzle has three hint letters to get you started, and a range of circled squares.
At the end of the puzzle you simply note down the letters in the circled squares to reveal the themed answer that is the answer to a space-themed question. Of course if you know the answer before you finish the puzzle then you can write it in to make the codeword element of the puzzle easier!
Or, you can solve the puzzle as a standard codeword and just treat the space trivia as a fun fact revealed at the end of your solve, the choice is yours!
Questions you encounter along the way include: What is the largest volcano in the Solar System? What is the only planet of the Solar System that is less dense than water?Which northern constellation derives its name from the Greek word for swan?...and 97 more!
Answers to the space-themed quiz questions and to all the codeword puzzles are given at the back of the book, so you can check your answers are correct, or take a peek if you need a helping hand along the way.
The idea is simple: solve the crossword. That sounds easy enough, but there is a slight catch - you need to deduce the grid pattern as well as the answers to the clues. This is why it is called a skeleton crossword, as you have to put the flesh on the bones of the grid in addition to solving the puzzle. Each of these 50 puzzles has a different grid pattern, each displaying symmetry, and you'll need to use the fact that the grids are symmetrical to help you deduce the pattern of the grid whilst completing the crossword puzzle itself.
For each puzzle we reveal a small amount of grid information, and you'll have to use this information, the clues and your knowledge the grid is symmetrical to complete the puzzle. If you can solve all 50 puzzles in this absorbing book, then you truly are a skeleton crossword maestro!
Solutions are included at the back of the book if you get stuck while solving the puzzles. All of our puzzle books are printed on very high quality paper, making the puzzle experience all the more enjoyable! For other puzzle books visit www.puzzle-book.co.uk
Good luck and happy solving!
Designed for both existing fans as well as new, this fantastic selection of codewords are sure to challenge even the most avid solver. Each puzzle provides three hint letters.
The recommended first step as a solver is to look for every instance of these in the grid, and write them in. These will help start your solving process. Sometimes the given letters will be immediately helpful and you will be able to deduce other words straight away. Sometimes they will offer less immediate help. In those instances many solvers look for the number that occurs the most time, in the knowledge that this is often the E, and if not then very often it is either T or A, the other two most common letters in English.
You may also want to look for unusual patterns - for instance where a number appears several times within a placement this usually narrows down the options quite heavily. There are many other solving methods that you will discover as you solve codewords and become more experienced at tackling the challenge they present.
Solutions are included at the back of the book. Good luck and happy solving!
Featuring four different difficulty levels, there are easy, medium, hard and expert mazes in this book. The mazes get bigger and the difficulty gets harder as you work through the book. To start with the mazes just require addition and subtraction, however as you work your way through to the harder difficulty levels you will also be required to perform multiplication and division, too.If you want to make the puzzles more straightforward, you can work the sum out on a piece of paper.
If you want to make it harder, you can try to perform the sum entirely in your head! The puzzles function as a normal maze, but there are sums along the solution route. So, once you've found the solution, go back through and work out the sum that passes through the solution route, starting from 0. So, if the first sum you find is +5, then you add 5 to zero to get 5. Then if the next sum is x4, then you calculate 5x4 = 20, and so on, working through the sums in the order you reach them from start to finish in the maze.
We hope you enjoy these maths mazes and the combination of the fun of solving a maze and then having a mental arithmetic series of sums to perform, too! All the answers are at the back of the book, so if you get stuck or want to check your answers at any time, then you can do so.
This book contains 70 space-themed puzzles such as mazes, word-based puzzles such as hangman, word searches, word wheels, riddles and word ladders, as well as maths-based puzzles such as number towers and animal maths. These puzzles will test your logic and mathematical skills. "Kids' Space Puzzles" is also very visual and features space-themed illustrations throughout the book to make learning fun and to make you feel as if you are immersed in space. Visual puzzles include silhouette puzzles and rebus puzzles, in which you are asked to work out the word represented by the picture.
This book also includes fact pages throughout the book on a variety of space-themed topics including the eight planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune), as well as fact pages about Pluto and the Moon.
2019 is the 50th anniversary of the moon landings, and the book commemorates this anniversary by including some facts about the landings. The puzzles in this book are specifically themed around aspects of space, including word searches that cover astronauts, constellations and the moons of Neptune, Uranus, Jupiter and Saturn.
A star sign page is also included in the book so you can work out what your star sign is, based on your date of birth. With a wide range of puzzles and fascinating facts about the universe, this book will be perfect for anyone who loves space.
Solutions are at the back of the book if you need a helping hand along the way. All of our puzzle books are printed on very high quality paper, making the puzzle experience all the more enjoyable! For other puzzle books visit www.puzzle-book.co.uk
Other puzzles will require you to delve into your memory to answer general knowledge quiz questions, whilst still others will ask you to be creative, as you try to find links between various words, and more besides.
Unless specifically instructed otherwise, you should take the puzzles at your own pace, and don't worry if you don't recall as much as you would like first time around. There is no limit to how many times you can try the puzzles and tasks, so you can come back to them time and again. For instance, if you play the foreign language puzzle games several times over the course of a few weeks, then you might just be able to tell people that you know how to say ten different words in six other European languages - a very impressive, and potentially useful, feat!
The book starts off with a number of tips on how to improve your memory, discussing some common techniques that can be used in order to commit a list of items to memory. The book starts off by discussing the journey method, whereby you create a journey that is familiar to you (for instance, a commute to work, a walk you used to do as a child, your morning 'journey' through the house), and associate each room with an item you want to remember with a colourful, memorable image. Equipped with these memory tips, you will be well-faced to solve the challenges in the book.
Some of the challenges are visual, asking you to for instance look at a series of coloured counters, commit them to memory, and then see if you can work out which ones have swapped position in a later image. Or you might be asked to commit a series of numbers to memory, and then work out which sum is possible based on the numbers you saw. In many cases, the puzzles get more difficult as you work through the book, requiring more information to be remembered.
Some puzzles are in the form of general knowledge quiz questions, others ask you to work out associations between various words, and others will challenge you with learning new things. Across a wide range of different visual, perception, general knowledge and creative puzzle types along with the memory tips that are given at the start of the book, we hope that this puzzle book will be very useful for those looking to improve their memory.
Each puzzle is played on a jumbo 21x21 grid, and is clearly displayed with the grid occupying one page of a spread and the list of clues occupying the second page of a grid. So whilst the jumbo grid is a challenge, being able to read the clues and write in the answers isn't, as the generous space devoted to each puzzle means it is comfortable to solve, even if some of the clues are tricky!
If you are a fan of the daily quick crosswords in newspapers, but are looking for a larger challenge that takes longer to solve, then our jumbo quick crossword book could be the perfect challenge for you, or for any crossword-lover you know, whether as a birthday present, Christmas gift or just as a general gift.
All solutions are given at the back of the book, so if you do get stuck on that pesky final clue, you can look it up and write it in while no-one is looking!
We hope you enjoy this collection of jumbo quick crossword puzzles as much as we've enjoyed creating them for you.

Each puzzle page lists three scores to aim for (scoring one point per word found): the target score that is the minimum you should aim for. Additionally we have included two other scores - one is a good score, and the other being an excellent score. We have placed enough lines on each page for you to write in sufficient words to reach the excellent score, excluding the nine-letter word which should be written in the boxes at the bottom of the page.
We include a list of words for each puzzle at the back of the book. This is not exhaustive, so if you find other words not listed at the back but that you can find in a good dictionary, then you should include these towards your score.
