Virginia McClure (1928-2012) was a Canadian artist, teacher, art patron and art administrator for nearly six decades. Her legacy is twofold - as an artist, she worked in ceramics, plastics, printmaking, painting and drawing and gained a reputation for her expressive, original and often witty ceramic sculpture, receiving several awards and participating in ceramic exhibitions throughout Canada. Virginia McClure also left a legacy of dedication to Montreal's Visual Arts Centre named in her honour in 1992 and publisher of this book. Framed by an informative introduction and a closing statement from the artist's daughter, this publication features Virginia McClure's last drawings and sketches.
