Smart, sassy and oh-so hip, LOL stars the gorgeous Sophie Marceau as the put-upon mother of a rebellious teenaged daughter. In text-speak, LOL means "laughing out loud", but in this case it is also the nickname of fifteen-year-old Lola, who lives with her mum, Anne. When Lol is reunited with her boyfriend after the summer holidays, he blithely tells her that he slept with somebody else over the break. Lol responds to this news as any self-respecting modern girl would: she says that she too was unfaithful, dumps his sorry arse and starts cosying up to their mutual best friend, Ma+â-½l. As her ex becomes nasty, her flirtation with Ma+â-½l reaches boiling point, and the school trip to England looms ever closer, Lol begins to wonder if she'll make it through year ten in one piece! To complicate matters even further, Lol finds out that her mum and dad have secretly rekindled their relationship - it seems that Lol and Anne have a lot in common, if they would only confide in each other.
