Bears are an ultimate icon of the wild, regarded as among the most successful wild animals on the planet. Three of the eight bear species in the world - brown bears, black bears, and polar bears -can be found in Alaska, one of North America's last truly wild frontiers. Episode Two: The Road North Chris journeys from a city of bears to a real city, Anchorage. Here black bears and people must share the land, and wildlife officers walk a fine line between wilderness and civilization. Still further North, Chris explores the world of AlaskaGÇÖs interior grizzlies as they struggle to survive in the harsh shadow of Mount Denali. Episode Three: Arctic Wanderer Ecologist Chris Morgan enters the freezer as he trek across the Arctic pack ice on the trail of AlaskaGÇÖs endangered polar bears. Chris reveals a previously unseen side of these predatory animals as they struggle to survive in a world melting around them. Deep in the Alaskan Arctic Chris discovers a family of Grizzlies feasting on salmon in a remote region rarely visited by humans. ChrisGÇÖ journey reveals to us another side of these complex and wildly misunderstood creatures.
