The well-read guide to David Walliams

You might know David Walliams as that riotously funny British comedian and actor that swam the English Channel that one time; however, now Walliams is one of the fastest growing children’s authors in the UK and globally!

If you and your kids haven’t had a chance to dip into David’s writing you’re missing out on a real treat. His novels are a laugh-out-loud experience for ages 8 and up. He’s been compared to Roald Dahl for his witty and intelligent writing, but where Dahl is dark and random, Walliams brings an understanding of children’s lives that makes his books charming and relatable, as well as hilarious. His novels are a great next step for kids graduating from Wimpy Kid, Weirdo, or Dork Diaries.

If your kids aren’t quite old enough for the novels yet, Walliams has written picture books that bring his humour to a younger audience. Brightly coloured and full of fun, they will help you start your Walliams addiction early. Whichever book you try we’re confident you’ll see why he’s rapidly becoming one of our favourite authors.

We’ve added some handy information on all the Walliams books published so far down below so you can make sure you haven’t missed any. They don’t need to be read in order, so pick one that takes your fancy and enjoy. Happy reading!
