Do you want to be one of the first people in the world to see the new film adaptation of Stephen King’s iconic horror novel It before its cinematic release on 7 September?
In conjunction with Hachette and Roadshow, we’re hosting an early screening for Booklovers in Sydney and Melbourne on Wednesday 30 August! We have 125 double passes for Stephen King fans in each city.
Be one of the first 125 people in Sydney or Melbourne to submit proof of purchase of the newly-released film tie-in edition of It by Stephen King and you’ll score a spot for you and a friend (that’s two seats, not one) at our It preview screenings on Wednesday 30 August.
Submit your proof of purchase here before Monday 28 August! Proof of purchase must be from a Dymocks store (including online) – purchases from other retailers are ineligible. Please read our FAQ below and for all the details, you can find the terms and conditions here.
Be quick! We think the double passes will be snapped up faster than you can say “he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts” five times.
It preview screening FAQ
Q. Does it matter if I purchased the It film tie-in edition before this competition launched?
A. Not at all! As long as your proof of purchase clearly shows the film tie-in edition purchased from a Dymocks store (including online) you can submit your details.
Q. What do you mean by ‘proof of purchase’?
A. The file you upload must clearly show that you have purchased the It film tie-in edition from a Dymocks store. If you purchased a copy online, you can upload your confirmation email. A photo or a scanned copy of your receipt/confirmation email is all we need. Our preferred file formats are PDF or JPEG.
Q. If I’ve bought a different edition of It, does that still count?
A. Any editions of It purchased prior to the release of the film-tie in edition on 25 July 2017 are ineligible.
Q. I’m not a Booklover but the form requires a Booklover number. How do I join?
A. Our Booklover loyalty program is free to join and you can sign up in store or online. If you’ve signed up online, you can find your Booklover number by logging in with the username and password you set up, then clicking on MY ACCOUNT in the top right corner. From the drop-down menu, select ‘My Details’ and your Booklover number will be shown under your date of birth.
Q. Where are the screening sessions located on Wednesday 30 August?
A. The Sydney screening will be held at Event Cinemas on George Street in the CBD, and the Melbourne screening will be held at the Jam Factory Village Cinemas in South Yarra. The Sydney session commences at 6.45pm and the Melbourne session commences at 7pm. These are preview screenings and anti-piracy security measures will be place, so we recommend arriving by 6.15pm in Sydney and 6.30pm in Melbourne.
Q. How will I know if I was one of the first 125 in my city to submit?
A. When you submit your proof of purchase here, you will see a screen confirming that your entry was successful. We will contact you as soon as possible to confirm your seat.
Q. I can’t make it on Wednesday 30 August. Will there be another screening?
A. No, this is the only screening date.
Q. I confirmed a seat but now I can’t make it. What do I do?
A. Please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible so your seat can be reallocated to someone else.
Q. Where are the terms and conditions for this competition?
A. You can find the terms and conditions on our website here.
Q. Will this movie remove my ability to sleep?
A. In good faith, we can’t 100% deny this.
