Dinner with Belinda Neil

Dinner with Belinda Neil

Camberwell, Wednesday 30 July, 2014

Come have dinner with us & hear Belinda shares her stories of her time in the force and how like many of her colleagues, she now copes with her life and as a mother, with PTSD.

Belinda confronted death almost every day as a police hostage negotiator and homicide investigator. Her book Under Siege shares her journey from a wide eyed rookie to a spell in undercover drugs operations, homicide investigation and with the NSW police force’s elite hostage negotiation team.

This high-pressured but thrilling job often meant her own safety was on the line and, like many others in the force, Belinda found that as the horrors of the job mounted her personal life started to crumble. Her eventual diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) helped her to begin the long road to recovery.

Ticket price includes full 2 course chef-prepared meal, plus wine/tea/coffee/etc, plus automatically go into the door prize to WIN a free copy of the book (worth $29.99)!

Ryan Campbell - In Store Signing

Ryan Campbell - In Store Signing

Doncaster, Saturday 16 August, 2014

The inspiring story of a teenager’s record-breaking flight around the world

'It's funny what you remember, which moments stick in your mind when the everyday disappears. I will never forget my first flight, the feeling of being pushed back in the seat, the rumbling that suddenly turned into silence. It fascinated me then, it does now. This was where magic happened. From that day on I knew: I would grow up to become a jumbo jet pilot.'

When Ryan Campbell was six he fell in love with aeroplanes. It was a passion that was to dominate his childhood and it was no surprise when at 15 Ryan became the youngest pilot in Australia. Inspired by his father and grandfather who were also aviators, Ryan sought a challenge and, like adventurers before him, he found one that spoke to him more than the rest. He wanted to fly around the world, solo, in a single-engine aircraft.

'The most extraordinary aviation adventure of the decade.' - Dick Smith
